  •  You'd think Walker's ad buddies (7+ / 0-)

would be frantically creating jobs during the recall run-up wouldn't you? Just to take that ammunition away.

Kinda makes me wonder whether even they know he's a loser and won't go out on a limb for him at all.  Giving him ad money is one thing; actual proof that the policies "work" and create jobs is something entirely different.

    •  They still think (7+ / 0-)

that all the attack ads they run will influence the vote the same way $ 50 million did in the State Senate recalls.  However, they don't count on the fact that the recall petition drive itself is an opportunity to educate voters and media attention on the recall drives interest.

      It's classic People Vs. Money.

There already is class warfare in America. Unfortunately, the rich are winning.

      •  AND, LOL, it took 50 million (13+ / 0-)

to fight in their own territory.  ALL the senatorial recalls were in red or swing areas with a bent towards red.

Now, the whole state is involved, including all those who were helpless in the senatorial recalls.  This one is going to be real tough on republicans.  Real tough.

People CAN beat money.  See Ohio, see Meg Whitman and Carley Fiorino.  Truth is the GOP doesn't understand the limits of conspicuous consumption.  They do not have buy in for their agenda, and don't care because they've got the money! They believe this, with all their cold little hearts.  This is their achilles heel.

And JUST THINK of all the dollars they waste trying to make their unpopular policies float.  They over buy in the media, consistently.  They don't understand the limitations of advertising. For instance, no amount of money was going to sell the "all new classic coke." (Which just begs to be rephrased as the "classic Koch.")

Coca Cola spent millions trying to tell consumers that the Coke they'd loved for years wasn't good enough.  They did so with "classic" over reach---research that told them, if only Coke tasted more like Pepsi, while still being Coke, they'd conquer the world.

Biggest new product fail of the last century, and the most costly.  You cannot shove everything down people's throat, just because you've got unlimited funds to do so.  And that's the good news.
