    about PIPA and SOPA at all if President Obama would just do the right thing and announce he was vetoing either of these bills. Given his past support for Net Neutrality and backing from people like Lawrence Lessig, you'd think it would be a no-brainer.

    Sadly, I can just picture the President signing such a law, while issuing some kind of milquetoast statement about how it "strikes a reasonable balance," while completely ignoring the real issues at hand.

        will act in the public interest when there is a lot of pressure being exerted, but will quietly flush same said public interest down the toilet if he thinks he can get away with it.

        The saddest part about this is that it's supposed to be the press holding the President's feet to the fire. But when push comes to shove, the press failed to question him about the health care mandate, failed to question him about the banks, and now they are staying quiet about this law that is on the verge of being passed.
