  •  We love you, Darcy...but (6+ / 0-)

What happened in 2008?  I mean, you were on top of the world with money and polls.  Is there a problem in the district?

What is different now vs. then?  I mean, 2008 was "our" banner year.

    •  That was WA-8, a swing district (10+ / 0-)

with "The Sheriff" as incumbent. That would be the guy who was sheriff when the Green River Killer was finally caught. Never mind that he wasn't really responsible for the get, and that in fact his previous actions resulted in Ridgeway (the killer) being on the loose for years after he had first come under suspicion. He was the big hero for local media, and they did everything in their power to protect him.

But that's all water under the bridge, now that Darcy is in a new district, and running in WA-01—an open seat being left by Dem Jay Inslee who is running for governor—instead of WA-08.

What happened in 2008? A smear. (Sometimes dirty politics works, alas.) Watching the right insist that Barack Obama has no real birth certificate from Hawaii -- contrary to all of the actual evidence -- seems so familiar to me. See for more information.

What's different in 2012? It's a different, newly-drawn district that's Democratic instead of one that's never elected a Democrat, and it's an open seat instead of having a Teflon-coated Republican incumbent. The northern Democratic portions of the old WA-08 are being combined with adjoining portions of the old WA-01 to create the new district.

I'm looking forward to having a chance to represent my friends and neighbors in the newly-drawn WA-01!

I'm not in your district or even in your state...but, I'm living on your end of the country and will provide a little donation to ya because you're the kind of "politician" we need.  I quote the word politician because that usually has negative conotations.  In your case, I don't think that fits.

Good video on the link you've presented for us.

Again, thanks for your candidacy.  I post "questioning" posts here on DKos here a lot (much to the chagrin of many here) for the sake of getting answers to what a lot of people don't want to ask...and, you've answered up admirably.

On to getting my credit card for some support (little as it might be :-).

The district she's running in this time is much different than WA-08 where she ran in 2008. WA-08 was held by a GOP incumbent we were trying to unseat.

This is a Democratic leaning district where the primary is the battle royale.

Also, her polling is also really great so far. Here's a link: (PDF)
