The President has -- this decision has not yet been made.  You can be sure that we want to strike the right balance between expanding coverage of preventive services and respecting religious beliefs.  And that’s the balance that will be sought as this decision is made.

Nothing explicit. Just smoke being blown up our ass by these "Democrats" who are wondering if Obama is considering it. But no actual proof, no explicitness, so I call BS.

This is a ploy to either: (A)-Get people who are FOR covering contraception to express their feelings to the President, or (B) get people who are AGAINST covering contraception more ammo in the 2012 elections.

Either way, BS, is BS, is BS, is BS

as you choose to be, but reality is reality regardless of your perspective.

Calling bullshit is a sign of denial of reality on your part.

That's fine and okay for you, but do not expect the rest of us to step in line with that view.

as me. That is why I read people's comments, and share my own opinion--if we differ, that's fine. Standing alone, on what I think is right is better than standing with the masses huddled in despair.

I do not think this "statement" by Jay Carney means a darn thing. I don't think we can take a vague answer and call for Obama's head on a pike. But what does matter is seeing all the people give up on Obama day after day on Dkos. Only to let a GOP President who doesn't give 2 fucks about them take the White House.

Let's see what happens next year.

next few months - not next year.

If the Administration wants to roll this edict back, this is their time to do so - before next year - during the holidays when most people are paying attention to their holiday plans and activities.

There are several levels to reading the tea leaves in Washington and one important factor is timing.  You want to slip something by the American public, late November and December are excellent months in which to do so. August is another great month to do shit that no one will like.  Friday night information releases and Saturday papers are for burying important stories.

As I said, you can call BS all you want, but you have been warned even if you do not choose to recognize that you have been.

    •  He says it right there (7+ / 0-)

As Jed points out in the diary, the decision to cover it had already been made.  It was settled.  The fact that Carney now acts like the question is up in the air indicates that something has changed and the President is considering changing the decision.

"The decision has not yet been made" means that it could go either way.  Had he said "the decision was made in August", then we could infer that the President was not considering changing it.

      •  so in your mind (0+ / 0-)

the comment period for proposed regulations is just window dressing? The administration should simply file all commments in the circular file (trash can) without bothering to read them?
