        When Jed says:

Even worse, Carney says President Obama is trying to "strike the right balance between expanding coverage of preventive services and respecting religious beliefs" without acknowledging the fact that the rules announced in August already included an exemption for churches.

He implies that contraception -- one of many preventive services -- may have been a step too far. It opens the door to eliminating that particular "preventive" service until a later date.

From a practical standpoint -- there is no way to thread the needle of religious opinion when delivering health care to an entire nation. Thus, eliminating all contraception is the only realistic approach.

Not that I'm buying into the idea that this has anything to do with religion.

It has to do with money -- like everything else at the Federal level that impacts Our Corporate Overlords.
