and said she saw some 3' high tule fog on the edge of the delta once that made it just up to the hood of her car, but was impenetrable below that line, like floating in a white ocean, no way to see the road.

crazy stuff, lots of fun. wind, OTOH, sucks blows.

has a really, really expensive boat with a totally cool Lowrance GPS. DH, the BFF and a friend of the BFF, head   over to the "stucco house" on False River. About 2 miles away. The BFF is driving. The DH is like - WTF are you doing? BFF is literally driving in circles.  The fog is really, really thick. DH goes, get out of the seat dude. I'm gonna drive, you just stick your head out of the top of the boat and listen. The BFF's friend breaks out the blackberry brandy. He's terrified. They found the spot. DH ran crew boats when he was in his 20's. Nothing is more terrifying than fog and boating in the Delta. I've been out in the dark and it's scary enough. A few years back, we had a LA guy running crew boats to a gas well on Bradford Island. They were getting ready to shut the well down. There was a party. I was invited to go on the boat and pickup the midnight crew. There was no fog and I was scared shitless as we did about 50mph in the black dark running on radar those 2 miles. I will say, radar is an interesting thing.

used to talk about driving through 3' tule fog by staying centered between the tops of the fenceposts on either side of the road
