and I write here as someone who grew up in LA (west valley — Tarzana)... there needs to be several Occupy sites: Occupy Century City, Occupy Santa Monica, Occupy the Wilshire District (Hansen Park by La Brea Tarpits might do... but the tar still oozes up through the grass in parts) — and so on.

Unlike so many cities, Los Angeles doesn't have just one downtown area, and its public transit is not the greatest. Maybe more people could participate in an Occupy encampment closer to their own locations. Plus it would make it harder, perhaps, on law enforcement to have to split its resources among several encampments, rather than just one.

Transatlantic best wishes and hopes for Occupy LA and for the Occupy movement worldwide. Seems like it is now or never as so much is imploding and being gutted by the corporatists (eurozone included).

Just because it's made up doesn't mean it isn't true.—Plan 10 from Outer Space

political geography and landscape of Los Angeles. I know there is an Occupy Riverside and several iterations of Occupy in Orange County. I will try to push your idea at the next GA I attend.
