  •  I can think of several reasons (7+ / 0-)

    people would post entire articles, ranging from evil to just-plain-naive.

    -- Could be a RW troll trying to get DKos in trouble for copyright.

    -- Could be a RW troll trying to build up positive mojo on DKos before spewing a series of talking points.

    -- Could be a spammer who's getting paid to spread links to some commercial website.

    Naive people:

    -- Some people either don't understand copyright and fair use or they believe "all information should be free" (and no musicians or writers should get paid for their work).

    -- I know a woman in her 70s who is passionate about politics but not very knowledgeable about her computer (and kind of scared that she'll break it or get a virus). She recently was very happy to discover you can have two windows open at the same time! She knows how to cut and paste text, but I'm sure the idea of inserting a link to the original source would baffle her.
