i thought we were just having a conversation.  i guess maybe that isn't coming through from my comments.  sorry about that.

i like Al Franken.  i think he's a nice person.  brave as hell for running for senate knowing how he would be mocked mercilessly for the years he worked as a comedian.  but he not only had the courage to endure that he even had the nerve to go 12 rounds of recounts and came out the winner.  he has a whole lot of respect from me on that.

this diary is titled 'what the hell is wrong with al franken'.   that is the context of conversations about al franken in this diary.  so, yeah, i am defending him.  i don't think he deserves to have Daily Kos wondering 'what the hell is wrong with him'.   and your response to 'what the hell is wrong with al franken' was to say he's a cafeteria progressive.  that means that there's something the hell wrong with being that way.

it's nothing personal toward you.  you wrote a comment.  i responded to it.  sorry.

    •  I wouldn't have made that choice of a headline (4+ / 0-)

personally, but don't see much harm in it. Maybe his staff sees it and is concerned. Maybe not. The Daily Kos is not such a powerful force compared to all the other powerful lobbyists and corporate and party interests leaning on a Senator.

Showing his staff people are really ticked may make an bigger impression than say, "Respectfully request you please reconsider your position on these bills, Senator Franken."

      •  Al would have listened without the swipe at him (0+ / 0-)

that is one of the particularly good things about him.  and he will listen despite the swipe, because he actually gives a damn.  not the most common attribute in the senate right now.  which is why i hate to see him talked to like he's just another asshole senator.  cause he's not.
