    1) space travel to distant solar systems is impossible?
    2) governments will never allocate enough money and resources to construct ships capable for such a journey because banks will continue to raid treasuries?
    3) distant aliens will come to us and show us how to scrub carbon, methane, ect., from the atmosphere?

      actually #1 as much as anything.

      no matter how bad it is here, we have a much better chance of keeping our lives going here than in space.

      to construct the ships and launch them by the end of the century.  At least it looks more and more like that every day.

      There revolution will not be televised. But it will be blogged, a lot. Probably more so than is necessary.

      human being are remarkably innovative. but such technology have been squelched by corporate interests. GE is sitting on patents related to improved battery performance, for one. the auto companies and oil companies have colluded to kill mass transit and have prevented technology that have evolved away from the internal combustion engine.

      why would we want to export an unenlightened race just to wreck havoc and destroy another planet? we want to usurp imperialistic destruction, not expand it.
