    If you don't like mining, then you need about ten thousand times less uranium mining than coal mining, as U-235 has a million times more energy in it than coal, but U-235 is only about a hundredth of the uranium in the world.

    Nuclear energy is clean, carbon-neutral, and much safer than coal.  Incidentally, the most dangerous power source in terms of human casualties is hydroelectric dams.

    Global warming is the inconvenient truth, nuclear power is the inconvenient alternative.

      count the casualties from letting the nuclear genie out of the bottle. If and when we do that, you may possibly be able to author this comment again.

      (However. the casualties at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, from only two "nuclear events", argue persuasively that we may well never get to that day.)

      There can be no protection locally if we're content to ignore the fact that there are no controls globally.
