    Personally I would take a Kyoto extension without the participation of the USA, Canada, Russia and Japan verses nothing at this point and China in ready to announce a plan of domestic reduction targets I will probably diary once it gets published.

    But I'm really not very optimistic that will happen this time around and I do think the more urgent and immediate task is aid for impacted emerging countries and small island nations.

    Indeed Ramesh is a very bright and persuasive writer, his first hand command of English is a real asset.

    Hey, as long as we are on the subject, are you familiar with Joydeep Gupta?  Maybe this recent article in China Dialogue (English version linked) may interest you.

      "her" LOL. We haven't got "his"/"her" in Chinese and "his" is the common default.

      Anyway, Hope you like Gupta, "he" she is also bright and persuasive!
