of a demanding "new economy" job - men disproportionately are not.

An example of what the country is facing is evidenced by inner city plight of African American men - when manufacturing jobs left the cities 40 or 50 years ago, they failed to adapt while whites more or less followed the jobs to the suburn areas.

Not that these jobs have completely vanished, white guys are projected to be demographically similar to African American men in a generation.  Sure, some/many will do fine but a huge number won't.

You can scoff, and perhaps Newt is a horribly tainted messenger, but this IS a real problem facing the country.

Just stating that there is no systemic reason, no biological reason, no economic reason, why men should not be attaining these higher careers at the same rate that women are.

To the extent that the realigning economy is destroying low skilled jobs, this also affects women and men equally. It's a problem, but it's not a problem that puts men at a sexist disadvantage.

      •  Actually there is a biological reason (0+ / 0-)

I imagine that it is politically incorrect to say this, but there actually ARE biological differences between men and women.
