but Randian (Libertarian) philosophy is very infused into much of politics today.

It is vital that WE understand this man and what he proposes and has drip by drip infused into American politics.

origin of Randian (Libertarian) philosophy, and how it differs from liberal philosophy.  Whether  we like it or not, lots of people can't be bothered know the difference between liberal and libertarian.  Maybe they think it's the same thing, just slightly different flavor.

The Libertarian Party (LP) is a fairly broad coalition of voters.  There are people in the LP that are far more socially liberal than most Democrats.  Libertarians (with a big "L") do universally believe in smaller government.  However, small government is not code word for slashing civilian agencies while growing the DoD like it is with the GOP.  Most Libertarians would like to see the 14th amendment modified to remove corporate personhood.  The founding fathers were fairly clear about limiting the rights of corporations.
