  •  Huntsman's rise (0+ / 0-)

is unlikely. The current Republican electorate is not interested in mild, thoughtful, nuanced observation. They are looking for bomb-throwers. Ron Paul occasionally makes rational statements, which is anathema to the low information voters that make up the dregs of the Republican party. I will continue to hope for a flameout between Newt and Mittens, where the survivor gets steamrolled by Obama.

    •  I am hoping for this too (0+ / 0-)

Huntsman could rise because the teaparty is rapidly losing influence. Being pushed to the sidelines by 99%.

      •  Huntsman is barely on the radar (1+ / 0-)

at 2.5%. Even Santorum is over 5%. The guy most likely to give Obama a run for his money is scraping rock bottom. That speaks volumes about the state of the GOP.

The tea party brand may be greatly diminished, but it's still out there.

I believe we are watching the Republicans get their LONG OVERDUE comeuppance as they crash and burn over the next year. I for one will be toasting marshmallows and sipping champagne whilst they burn. Perhaps I speak too soon. /fingers crossed.
