  •  I'm sure the Gates Foundation has done great (0+ / 0-)

things as well as this ALEC crap.

But it galls me that all that money came out of the pockets of school districts, non-profits, local, state, and federal agencies who were all forced to pay Microsoft for the privilege of using a PC.

That's not a  free market and the situation should have been put right around the time of the PC/AT.

I read help-wanted  ads that demand a resume be sent in "Word format". That's like saying, "Show up for the interview in a Ford product or don't show up at all."

MS didn't get to be the biggest player by producing the best software. They got there through a convergence of business savvy, timing, monopoly, and user naivete.

U.S. Marshals enforcing the dictates of Bill Gates' B.S.A. (Business Software Alliance) helped also.

Reaganomics: The belief that: 1) Unregulated capitalism can produce unlimited goods for unlimited people on a planet with finite resources; 2) We can increase revenue by decreasing revenue.

see independent, detailed proof of the great things the foundation has actually accomplished before crediting them, given the long, long history of MS "business practices".
