  •  There are a few folks who feel it would be (8+ / 0-)

groveling to ask for re-instatement. While I miss them ( some more than others) I have to think that if they can't let go of the anger, they would not last very long after a re-instatement.

The key is to put blogging in its proper place. It is not life or death and the words on the screen will not kill or maim. But they can be hurtful and if you can't walk away from the fights you generally just hurt yourself.

Old age is usually a bad thing, but sometimes a good thing in that we can put things in better persepctive and relative importance.  But those skills are learned from experience and no experience is as instructive as making mistakes.

I've made plenty of them, too, and learned important lessions.  In fact, I've learned more from making a mistake than I ever did from any other source.  And the lessons learned from a mistake are long lasting because they hurt.

Blogging while drunk or angry is one such mistake.  Taking one comment or argument on its own without weighing them against an entire history is another IMHO.  Failing to recognize the need to apologize or to reverse a decision are mistakes #3 and 4.  This is how mistakes pile up and create problems.

There already is class warfare in America. Unfortunately, the rich are winning.

I've learned not to react to a comment just because of the tone of it.

Some people are just abrupt, but there is often still a good point that they may be making. I wait and let myself understand what they're actually saying before I react.
