  •  It's kind of always been this way (7+ / 0-)
It's a faceless numbers game in which no one in power cares about the human damage that results.

But it's never been so obvious, blatant, or right out front as it is today.

We're resigned to our collective fate because we've been conditioned and brainwashed to believe that this is as good as it gets. It's not.

to me it was never as bad as it is now.  Remember when they told us all you have to do is get your education and you'll be fine.  Well, now what?  They are out of tricks and are down to calling us names like lazy, blah, blah, and threatening to take away more safety nets if we complain.  Honest to G-d, it makes me sick when I think of the money and time I invested in school, giving up having a social life for years because working and going to school leaves little time for anything else.

It is almost laughable, if it wasn't so horrifying, that Newt wants to put children to work.  Put the rich kids to work their the ones that don't understand poverty and a good work ethic because everything is handed to them or most their daughters are married to hedge fund managers for financial security.

I should have just had a good time instead of working so damn hard, it would have been more fun since I'm still as poor as I always was.

never thought it was the right move before, but I have had a good time, smoked lots of dope, I worked for 43 years, not too hard, saved some money,  and am now retired. I also married a school teacher 12 years my junior, that has made my life easier than I probably deserve.
