linked below, I'm even MORE skeptical now.

No one with his education and responsibilities should struggle with this math test to the point of only getting 10 of 60 correct (and then only by guessing).  It took me less than 10 minutes to answer all 10 sample questions correctly.

Either he's wildly undeserving of his credentials and his role, or he's exaggerating (successfully) for publicity.

The only real reason anyone other than a student would take this is for grandstanding.   Test results from anyone other than students would be not valid for drawing conclusions about the validity of the test and accountability would be based on student scores anyway.  Seems an obvious point for her to distort it like that

I wonder if she'd be able to pass...

Intelligent, passionate, perceptive people will always disagree, but we should not let that disagreement, however heartfelt, lead us to become deaf to those better angels of our nature.

It may be germane that Rick Roach publicly criticized the FCAT for being "too hard" weeks before he himself took the test.

        Self-fulfilling prediction, anybody?

          Strange, huh.

(and I shouldn't be so harsh on Laura here.   It is a obvious point if you do social science or other statistical research for a living, which I used to.   Otherwise the validity issue probably isn't so obvious.   No reason to be nasty about it)

would take this would be as part of a cheating scheme, which is what I bet the law is trying to address.
