2 years doesn't qualify for "extraordinary" than nothing does.
record highest number of filibusters in history.

A clear pattern of republican obstruction.

Obstruction largely respnosible health care reform suffered such a watering down, just as one of numerous examples of the republican party's promised destructive agenda to "break" President Obama.

And President Obama's appointments: lol  republicans have vowed to stop anything Democrats care about achieving

..the "constitutional option," which I define as occurring at the beginning of a new Congress) initiated by either party's leader in this Congress or the next.
    Collegiality is dead.
There are no republican "gentlemen" at least when they're "working" on legislation..

First order of business for the new session: end rule 22 is my vote. And yes "be careful what you wish" for be damned at this point.

the old 4-Corners offense, simply trying to run out the clock. The did it in 2009-10 to run out the clock on the Dems Senate supermajority, and they are doing it now to run out the clock on Obama's 1st term.

As long as Republicans are in the minority in the Senate, this is their standard operating mode  -waste the time of a Dem president and a Dem senate majority until another election comes.

If Republicans are not in charge, they live to stop the Democrats from getting anything done.

Dems need to answer the stalling by design with an end to filibusters.
