So your reasoning for why Newt Gingrich is a racist is that he says things that are racist, and those things he says are racist because he is a racist? That's... interesting. It's also circular reasoning.

You can't know whether he meant it to be racist or not. The only person who can know that is Newt Gingrich. We can only go by what he actually said, and that is as far from racist as Fenway is from the far side of the Moon. Like I said, if you find the mere association of food stamps and a half-black man to be racist, it's you who are the racist.

There are real problems in this country that need to be solved. Super-secret-quadruple-hyper-crypto-racism isn't one of them.

was. I don't know the guy personally, do you? I judge someone based off of what they say and their actions.

Look at any speech by either Obama or Gingrich, listen to the talking heads after the speech and notice which comments they pull out of it. It could be completely the opposite of what either man meant to say, but WE the people can perceive it differently. AND that's what matters, that's what gets people commenting on what was said.
(See yesterday's Appeasement Speech by Mitt and you'll see what I mean)

It's not a "secret"; Newt's intentions were plain & clear. Racism is still a huge problem that doesn't just go away when you have economic downturn. Sad to see that you don't care, but I, as an African American Woman do.

plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

The bad news is that it probably always will be. The good news is that this is not racism, this is just people's extremely hyperactive imaginations hard at work.
