  •  i think they just believe their own lies (4+ / 0-)

in a world where they get all their news from Fox, Obama's an unpopular socialist and the tea party is fresh and vibrant.  All Americans look like they do, etc.  The only liberals to worry about are Alan Colmes.  Of course, if Obama does pose a threat it's from "Chicago style politics" and ACORN so it can't be Newt's fault if they lose.  Never mind that they're the ones suppressing the vote.

    •  When you tell the same lies over and over you (4+ / 0-)

forget it was a lie and you've deluded yourself.

As a gay male, I went through a period in my mid 30s to mid 40s where I'd lie about my age, by as many years as I thought I could get away with. I got so used to it that I have a hard time remembering how old I really am.

      •  Vanity, Thy Name is? (0+ / 0-)

I know a guy, straight, devoted serial heterosexual single male traveler, who put back his 40th birthday a few times, among a few other vanities you'd not associate with a regular straight guy. One day, he stopped being 38 and was like instantly, 46 or something like that. He's a great guy, just has this peculiarity about getting old.

I wish I were younger too, but being 50 today is like being 35 20 years ago. It's not that bad, and it's all part of the journey.

It takes all kinds, just remember that.
