out that Walmart is heavily subsidized by government because it does not pay living wages or benefits.

So, Walmart's workers cost society more due to services they need because of Walmart's refusal to pay decent wages.

The low prices are illusory; we all subsidize those workers' living expenses(child care, food, housing, etc.).
And those 6 heirs know this.

Not only does Wal-Mart not pay living wages, but they have jerry rigged the laws in such ways to benefit the Walton family with a little help from the Clintons in the early 90s. No proof here, just conjecture on my part and from watching "High Cost of Low Wages".

      - Stopping just short of the legal limits of making a part-time worker to a full-time worker to avoid paying full time benefits.

      - Paying workers low wages, so that they're forced to use Medical/Medicaid etc. and deplete the public finances.

      - Siphoning off Federal dollars by claiming to provide "training" for workers.

      - Paying suppliers the least they possible get away with.

      - Of course, treating their workers like shit -- I may have missed that.

I used to be a fan of "free market" ideology during my days at Graduate school in the late 80s getting that all important MBA, but I have since learned of their ways of doing business, and have not set foot into one of their stores for over 11 years and counting. I never will.

I think the only way to counter these rapacious bastards is to not open your pocketbook within their stores or online.
