heard of Dewey Square before this. It was a practically unused space, which is why it was chosen over other local spots.

Also, we are not denying people access to it or the hundreds of acres of parks nearby. See this:

Nor are we denying access to this space. Anyone is welcome. They can enjoy our food. Sit down. Chat with people. Half of Dewey Square is left unoccupied so that normal activities, such as the weekly farmer's market, can continue.

We're not inconveniencing anyone and we're not hurting anyone and we've collected funds to restore the landscaping.

Yet, we are fighting a most profound fight about democracy. That trumps other petty concerns.

The whole point to the First Amendment right to assemble and protest is that you are protesting your government. Since they are the source of the issue, they are not disinterested parties protecting the public, they are protecting themselves when they try to limit how, when, where the protest occurs. They don't have that right. Nowhere in the first amendment does it give them the right to do so. The only qualifier put in there regarding what the people must limit themselves to is "peaceful".

Please remember to Witness Revolution. It means so much to them that we pay attention.
