Unless it might be to sow electoral boycott and splitting sentiments, and to thus effectively hand power over to the right, by default.

The problem with Democrats is that they are subject to such intense pressures by the right, the Republicans and Blue Dogs, and their corporate clients. to coerce, co-opt, corrupt and sabotage progressive initiatives.

As long as the right maintains sufficient plurality in the House and Senate to block or subvert reform, the whole world is screwed.

The "perpetual bullshit machine" is that which asserts "no difference" between the parties, and tries to muddy the distinctions between right and left.

Sufficient progressive, liberal, moderate, rational Democratic plurality in Congress (NOT rotten with Blue Dogs) can, and will, implement modest electoral, campaign finance and media reforms, to allow emergence of a more viable democracy.

Less plurality, not so much, or worse, plain and simple.

OWS will be only viable to the extent that it succeeds in mobilizing the electorate to rise up and seize the power, democratically, electorally, explicitly to crush the Republicans (and Blue Dogs).

Only then will real solutions become feasible.

Democracy is the most fundamental revolutionary principle. Information is the ultimate key.
