Not as much about your diary, as about some of the comments.

While I think it's fine to point out hypocrisy and inconsistency and the downright potential bad outcomes from a given person or group's philosophies, a family grieving a miscarriage is a family grieving a miscarriage, no matter how wrongheaded they are, or how much of a freak show they've deliberately made their lives in the pursuit of money.

I watched this program once about this grindingly poor, I mean really poverty-stricken family in Italy, all but one were adults. The mother, her abusive husband, a couple of abusive grown sons and their wives/SOs. There was also a kid. These folks were so poor that the woman and her young son would go to this huge detritus pile and retrieve strips of cloths that were rolled up and, well, I never really understood what they did with them. But that was their only source of income because god knows the men didn't work. Dinner one night was pasta with oil. That's it.

Anyway, the woman became pregant. Not particularly happy about it, but the baby was born. But the poor little thing, and I'll never forget this, cried all the time, so freaking angry to've been born into such dire straits that after a few months it just up and died.  They called a guy who specialized in making baby coffins and he came with one and carried the baby away.  After that it was if he'd never existed.

What has this to do with anything? Michelle Duggar has 19 live  kids.  I really don't believe that she's grieving so over this lost embryo. All of this naming it and coffins and headstones and memories of something 15 minutes old. Please. Only in America.

really don't know how she's feeling .. giving birth  has been a major component of how she views herself - the inability to fulfill that function can have a major impact on her selfworth.
