      It really was very small townish, overall, "back in the day" Of course lots was going on in the proverbial smoke-filled backrooms and the press stayed mum about things like affairs of the powerful, but still, it felt alive, like a city of the people...now it does feel cold, driven and devoid of any soul.
      And the traffic is abominable and houses are near unaffordable.
