  •  I Don't Mind the Ads (5+ / 0-)

I click them if I think they will go to something that I am interested in.

The problem is that some of the new Flash ads are too big or processor-intensive for my Netbook to handle. I'll get a two-minute lag on page load ... all for a tiny 200x240 animation to load on screen?  Sheesh.

So a subscription might be in my future as well.

no reason to see internet ads ever, imho.

It seems like for a while there were several independent authors/publishers peddling their wares via one of the ad services that this site uses. This is an example of a product that I might want to buy. So, I don't want to block those completely.

But the currently running Hilton Honors Club Flash animation ad that is preventing me from using this site on my Netbook? Ew. Not only am I unlikely to click it, it's making it hard to get from page to page.

the site was showing ads on the mobile version of DKos, which made browsing on my iPhone agony. That's when I went ahead and got my subscription. Now, I think the default on mobile DKos is no ads, but I'm still glad to be ad-free when I'm on my "regular" computers.
