    •  Unfortunately, people do get hurt (4+ / 0-)

Rage tends to explode and people can get hurt.  If the rage that causes someone to stop their car, get out, and confront people who are gathering and signing petitions doesn't result in physical or mental injury then, it may later when they are driving home and angrily tailgate or cut someone else off in traffic, or when arriving home to their spouse and children and the leaves haven't been raked from the front lawn.

Rage represents significant negative energy that persists over long periods of time and impacts many others who have contact with that person.  For a spouse and children, such a level of negative energy that rage represents can cause deep and lasting emotional trauma.

In my view, and it is certainly understandable that others do not share such a view, all beings are deserving of compassion.  Whether duped by Rush, or blinded by greed, or bigoted by upbringing, or ignorant by pride, someone driven by rage is suffering, day in and day out, as is their family.  And, again in my view, we as progressives, in working for social, economic, and environmental justice, are working for a world that will be better for everyone, including those who are unable to understand that concept.

So, I guess it is my hope that, in continuing to remain peaceful and patient, our Wisconsin Kossacks, so bravely and selflessly collecting signatures, will be a good influence on those who confront them, using their own positive energy to diffuse and transform the destructive forces that cause so many so much suffering.

But that's just my view.  The world is a complex place, and each person's path through life unfolds in its own unique way.  It is certainly understandable that others will have developed differing views.

Thank you again to our Wisconsin Kossacks.

      •  Good point, you will be glad to know that most (1+ / 0-)

people I have seen collecting signatures or volunteering are wonderful people and are very kind. I think it is the compassionate people who really want to see a recall election, in part because our government has changed drastically from somewhat compassionate to really sort of mean in one short year.
