    Better yet the whole pie.

So what do you propose?  Raise up a militia?  O-Rly?

      Your words:

"But here's another important angle on this:

What's the Supreme Court going to look like in another four years?"

That's why this whole brilliant piece of 10-D chess is completely stupid.  Obama had better know how uncertain his own re-election is at this moment, and signing this bill itself is only going to make it more unlikely.  Not only will it dispirit Democrats, but it's likely to motivate some Republicans: "Do you really want that damn Democrat in office with the power to detain you?"

At some point my conscience is going to step in and say "The lesser of two evils is still too evil for my tastes", and signing this NDAA, I'm pretty sure, would be a fine way for him to finally cross that line.

"And the "don't vote" cynic crowd can go eat dog doo sandwiches with puke sauce if they don't like that.  "

I ain't eating a damn thing.  My vote may be the only right I have left, and if I have to withhold it to convey my displeasure with Obama, then I'm damn well withholding it.

      •  right, then a vote for Newt-by-default. OK.... (0+ / 0-)

... it's your right to vote for Newt-by-default, if that's what you really want to do.

May your bird feeder be infested by three thousand squirrels.

Diseased sandwiches and a plague of squirrels?  Do you have to wish horrific things on those who disagree with you?  Are we all Republicans now?

          •  the purpose of the squirrels... (0+ / 0-)

.... is to keep you amused and laughing at their antics for long enough to get out of the morose shoot-self-in-foot mood that leads to not-voting.

If you think squirrels are horrific, you're definitely in need of a month or two of Monty Python therapy or something.

      •  oh, well after someone earlier posted a comment... (0+ / 0-)

... calling for guillotines along with their pitchforks and torches, I suppose someone saying "don't shoot" anything, whether the messenger or the message, plus or minus a buck for the winter meat supply, is a good thing.
