    that after we were to throw them all out their seats would be filled by others either just like them or by people who will become just like them in a while.

    How can I say this?  Because the congress is a subsystem embedded in a larger system.  Until that larger system is dealt with it will do more to shape congress than any congress could do to shape it.

    An idea is not responsible for who happens to be carrying it at the moment. It stands or falls on its own merits.

      ...I guess I'm talking about first steps back from the brink. Do we have the means to fight all the way back, or just some of the way back?

      I could make the case that George Washington wasn't the greatest tactician in history, but his overall strategy included a waiting game plus opportunism, and that's what we have to do, along with a little guerrilla warfare, which ole George probably utilized.

      Lots of baby steps, on lots of fronts, otherwise, I might as well just shoot myself (metaphorically speaking).
