    ...is that they pretend to be cheap energy, but they're exactly the opposite.  Once you factor in health impacts, pollution mitigation, all those expensive wars we wage to protect our sources, and (of course) the impact of global climate change, it's clear that they're anything but cheap.

    Burning fossil fuels for our energy needs is like buying groceries on a cash advance from your 29% interest credit card.  It feels cheap, because you've still got some loose bills in your pocket.  But eventually you wind up in indentured servitude to BofA or Chase Manhattan.

    Humanity has exceeded the credit limit on our Bank of Gaia card, and we're going to be paying outrageous penalties for the next thousand years or so.  

    Too bad...shoulda read the fine print.

    Freedom isn't "on the march." Freedom dances.
