INSANE BILLIONAIRES:    Let’s kill everyone and take their money!
SANE BILLIONAIRES:       I like the way you think.  I really do.  But if we keep everyone

                                         long term.

    INSANE BILLIONAIRES:    You Communist!!!

there was a time when this was true,
" if we keep everyone alive, and working for us, we’ll make even more money"
but that's not how it's playing out in real time, with very real consequences.

corporate profits are at record levels and are sitting on 2 trillion dollars in cash, at the same time that 23 million of our citizens are looking for work.

this is an unprecedented imbalance of wealth and a frightening  employment scenario going forward. the nexus of technological productivity, exported labor and vicious capitalistic adherence to profit all all costs, has quite possibly and permanantly, eliminated the need for many of these jobs.

stock prices are high, dividednds are being raised, corporate bonuses are higher than ever, shareholders are being rewarded at the very same time that 23 million people are looking for work. so, what is the incentive for corporations to take on new employees, in this environment?

from their perspective, there really isn't.

There is a crime here that goes beyond denunciation. There is a sorrow here that weeping cannot symbolize. There is a failure here that topples all our success. Grapes of Wrath, John Steinbeck
