    we inadvertently make decisions with far-ranging political implications.

    The global banking octupi depend on fractionalization, leverage and arbitrage to maintain their iron grip on the planet....

    Reduce the daily cashflow even by a few percent and see how fast the whole financial machine screeches to a halt.

    The money quote, imo:

    We could have civilization without rich people or a political class, but they cannot be rich and do politics without us.  I don't know how exactly we could pull it off, but we really could just walk away from the whole thing and let the 1% come crashing down.  They have no skills that we depend on; they have no control of anything except through paper. "To keep you is no benefit; to destroy you is no loss."
