They don't want him as the party's albatross in 2006.

I'm actually rooting for him to survive another six months, but things don't look so good.

exactly- let this thing play out a good long while.  Fight the good fight, Tom!  Don't be a wimp!

    •  save tom delay! (4.00)
let's start a campaign defense fund for him.

why not? it's not like the R's haven't been rat-fing for decades.

      •  Perfect! (none)
this will only be fun and productive if we tie him around their necks to putrify and rot off extremity by extremity. the stench will drive them all out in the open gasping for air.
if delay goes down can't gop say to Xtian fundies, 'gosh we tried.'

Yeah lets protest too much  !

          •  Republican Rep. John Culberson (TX-7): memo-less. (none)
On MSNBC's Abram's Report this evening Rep. John Culberson strongly defended Cornyn's crackpot statement of yesterday.
Culberson is a strong supporter of DeLay and Bush
"mandate," but I guess he was left hanging out of the loop tonight.
Culberson claims:  Judiciary weakest branch of the government; Judges have elevated themselves to an oligarchy.

            Taking names.
            Easy pickings.
            All about money.
Sorry Xtians, "you've been effed for over 30 years by GOP."

I agree, this could be lots of fun and have tremendous entertainment value.  A cross between the Yes Men and Nixon's Don Segretti.

"How dare those weaker Republicans abandon the brave man who was willing to set aside the Constitution to save a woman's life?!  Anyone who fails to stand up for him now will live to regret it..."

      •  There already is one... (none)
The Republicans already started a defense fund for TD - and lots of other congressmen have contributed, including Lamar Smith, Roy Blunt, Henry Bonilla, and Billy Tauzin.

        Public Citizen has details.

Lots of R's here in Texas must also be worrying right now. Here's hoping it's too hard for them to wash this stink off next year...

that Bush and the congress fears Delay, I wonder what Delay knows ? and if he is crazy enough to take everyone down with him when he goes ?

Delay has way too much power, the question is WHY ?

        •  say hello to his little friend (none)
that's because he has a godfather way of doing business.  He can move heaven and earth to get your request taken care of, but then your his bitch for life.
