He was a traitor. He along with Ruben Diaz were quite close with Espada and Monserrate. I am glad to see him gone. Now all we have to do is knock off Diaz in a primary.

That all said, from what I have seen, I don't have a substantially higher view of Fidler.

    •  Diaz is Senator for Life (0+ / 0-)

He really represents his district accurately; it is economically Left and socially Right. Diaz may be the most left wing D in the NY Senate on economic issues.

And unlike Espada and Monserrate, Diaz isn't a crook, and did not defect to the Rs. (Diaz was in fact first elected as a loyal D after a previous Espada defection!) Diaz' son is now Bronx Borough President and the organization is behind both.

      •  Sure he didn't defect with Espada and Monserrate (1+ / 0-)

on a primary against Diaz. Not to mention that he also has the patronage and the organization.

And while he did threaten to defect in 2008, he backed down. He is no dummy; he realizes that God Almighty would lose an election in his district running as a Republican. I live in the Bronx and I know a little about how things work here.
