  •  I keep wanting to understand where (6+ / 0-)

    we are moving on to.

I don't think that "The Land of Austerity" sounds like a fun place to be going.

Healing isn't generally defined as coming back without most of your limbs and no way to survive a cruel world.

See because this was what I always hated about that "Hope and Change" mantra.  Hope for what?  Change how?  It was never really defined all that clearly and people were so fucking starstruck that they didn't press the candidate to explain his definition of Hope and Change.

Not that he would have told the truth about "Austerity" being the goal over "Prosperity". He probably would not have come clean about "healing" being a hugely ironic term when he really meant "hurting" and hurting really badly.

But maybe had there been just a bit more skepticism and a bit less deference, the mistakes that have been made would not have been quite as grand and damaging in scale.  Maybe some of the other members of the Party would have been a bit bolder in making challenges when, for instance, the Administration chose to totally ignore unemployment.  Maybe.  I don't know.

What I do know now is that my gut instinct that these people were not working in the best interests of the people of the United States have been confirmed over the past three years.  I don't like being right about those kinds of instincts, ever.  I wish they had proven me wrong.
