If this political system - the Democratic Party in particular - fails to deliver a viable alternative to disaster capitalism, expect the population to accept any person who expresses an opposition to that paradigm, perhaps even a fascist of some sort.

However, I know that his primary contention surrounds anti-capitalist concerns and some too with war... we at least share that issue. However, I've made more peace with how to work through electoral issues. He's young still and just angry. My guess is he will not vote in the next election (which will be his second). He is extremely political. We both are. He's a huge fan of Bernie Sanders as well, so his ideology is still being shaped as far as I am concerned. Really bright guy. Very involved with OWS. However, his friends buy into the rhetoric from the Paulites as "Anarchistic-leaning" which appeals to them in that they believe it to be anti-Capitalistic. It's common here. Folks don't know he's a racist and an anti-Semite. My brother's a secular Jew...  and while we are close, who listens to their politically radical much older sister? It was like pulling teeth to get him to hear me. But finally he did. Most recently, we talked about the Occupy Movement for a few hours, and his heart is in the right place.

Ron Paul's isn't though. The way he markets himself to people and preys on them makes me queasy.
