What do James Kirchick's views on foreign policy have to do with what he has written about racist and hateful statements that appeared in Ron Paul's newsletters in the 1980s and 90s?

Or perhaps a better question is, why do you believe James Kirchick's foreign policy views affect the accuracy of MB's characterization of him as a widely published journalist?

as I said above, but as I also say above, they do point to what is motivating Kirkik to go after him -- this is the neocon establishment striking back.

And I've also wandered onto a different but related topic: the fact that people who traffic in anti-Muslim bigotry -- whether it's Marty Peretz, Abe Foxman, or Jamie Kirchik -- are still considered respectable.

        if his reporting is accurate?

I've written many diaries about Ron Paul's newsletters myself. Do my motives matter? Do MB's motives for writing this one matter?

      •  why do you presume to know his motives (0+ / 0-)

in this instance, based on other views he holds?  Kirchick is, I believe, gay, and Ron Paul voted for DOMA.  Maybe it's possible to be a foreign policy neoconservative and not support virulent anti-black racism here at home.  Can't Kirchick's foreign policy views be merely wrong?
