  •  I tried this last night (12+ / 0-)

    with my wingnut neighbor.

This was the neighbor who had so many Kasich and Portman signs on his lawn a few years back, he couldn't cut his grass for 3 months.  Doesn't seem to have a job these days, but he just bought a new Czech firearm.  And maybe it's the cost of gas these days, but Sundays come and go without any of his dilapidated vehicles moving from their appointed spots in his driveway.

I've thought to myself more than once that his church here in mid-Northern Ohio is sure to help out this true believer.  Someday . . .

So, I stepped over the remains of his shutter which had blown into his lawn, and when I found out that the bell was unresponsive, I knocked.  I saw Bill O'Reilly gesticulating wildly on his small tv when he came to the door.

He accepted my carton of eggnog, but when I told him that the neighbors are all coming together for a little Christmas Eve pickup football game, and we needed a pulling guard, he sneered, "Football?  Gridiron?  Y'all don't play polo?"

Teddy had the Square Deal. FDR had the New Deal. Obama's got the BFD.
