  •  Layed off Bain capital employee bashes Romney (9+ / 0-)

    as a job killer.

Rudy Johnson, a labor organizer who was laid off in 1992 by Ampad, a company run by Bain Capital under Mitt Romney, took to the press this week to condemn Romney’s business record. In an interview with ABC News, Johnson recounted the horror of downsizing at his Marion, Indiana factory.

“It was really one of the worst things I think I’ve had to deal with, because people … were at my desk crying, ‘What do I do? I don’t have a good college education… I just wanted to get to retirement,’” Johnson said. “Families were devastated. In some cases, the husband and the wife both worked there. They lost all their income. It doesn’t get much worse than that.”

Johnson also told his story during Romney’s 1994 Senate campaign against Ted Kennedy, which Romney ended up losing. Expect to see plenty of tales like his come general election season.

Even disregarding his flip-flopping and the GOP base's hatred of him, having him as your nominee is one of the worst images the GOP could have. As Mike Huckabee said memorably in 2008, Mitt "looks like the guy who laid you off."

And what's great about that line is that it's true. Romney was in essence a corporate raider. Gordon Gekko for President.

Omigod, he does, doesn't he?  That is the most perfect summation of who or what Mitt truly is.

He is the Layoff Man.  He claims to have created jobs?  Really, is he just counting the yard maintenance people he was able to hire with his ill-gotten (and scantily taxed) gains?

But what is coming across during this campaign is how truly self-absorbed Mitt is.  He thinks what he did was just fine, too bad about all those employee-people, but a buck is a buck, right?  Going for the gold, whatever the cost to the public, is just the Amurican way.

Getting into a ticklish subject for a minute, we taped the Mormon Tabernacle Christmas special.  You know, nice Holiday gala, might be fun to watch.  We fired it up last night and I gagged.  It was sort of a chaste and retro-dressed spectacle, Dickens with acrobats and no adrenaline.  We had to turn it off.  Not my idea of energy or passion.

Is that the problem with Mitt?  Has he been trained to be without emotions or energy?  Is he a robot in funny underwear?  I hope I am not insulting anyone or appearing to be bigoted, but I honestly am curious.  Is Mitt a product of his community?  Is that why I find him so boring?  so safe, so predictable?
