The right motivation is the wish for the happiness and well-being of everyone, so that all may attain peace and freedom from the causes of suffering.

Right motivation may be liked to a seed, but one that has to be planted again and again.

At first when we plant it, it may appear that we are deceiving ourselves and others, that owing to our attachments and aversions we are unable really to help anyone at all!'

Later on, as we continue to develop the right motivation, it will become an integral part of our lives, inseparable from us. At that time, our right motivation of compassion will be effortless, consistent, and effective- just the way we are.

....and right motivation. Yes, thank you for this, perfect synchronistic timing as this is exactly what i needed today. Eric's awareness and yours completes this for me...i was questioning myself as to 'could i really be a lotus in the world but not of it".    continuing to float and still do my duties....or was i fooling myself because i want to stay in the world and not leave it....am i just attached......to plant seeds and not be attached to the fruit of them....is  Yoga....to do....and not be attached to the results is "Right motivation"    and then things take seed and grow as needed with out me blocking or attaching to results...keeps Me free and other's Free
