I see also from your included links that you posted a rec-listed diary on Christmas that is essentially a rehash of the post on the "Oath Keepers" website that you link to in this diary. You even used the same title, except that you replaced the words "Oath Keepers" with "Montanans". You also refer to Stewart Rhodes as a mere "Montanan" and conveniently leave out the part about him being the FOUNDER of the extreme right wing militia movement with ties to white supremacist groups "The Oath Keepers" until your update the next day, when most people probably didn't see it.

With that in mind, I'm HR'ing your tip jar even though I know it's a meaningless exercise, simply to get the attention of those kossaks who may not be aware that they are recommending a diary written by someone who, by all appearances, is very involved in this group and trying to funnel support to them. Have a happy new year.

that your diary about Donald Rumsfeld was seriously one of the best diaries I've read on this site, and I take no pleasure in my HR. You do very important work. It is a shame to see you associate yourself with a group like the Oath Keepers and I hope you do a little more research on them (assuming you haven't already) and reconsider your involvement. I did a research project on the online white separatist community and can attest that they have very strong connections with the Patriot movement, and the Oath Keepers in particular. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you didn't know that.

I removed mt tip and rec for an otherwise excellent diary based on these links.  Oathkeepers is a militia type right wing org, ralph is wrong to defend it.

I will not send money to, work for, or vote for, any candidate whose behavior benefits the 1% over the 99%. Work for my vote, money and time, or lose it. Not the other way around.

    •  Ok, whatever. I guess you think Kossacks (0+ / 0-)

can't think for themselves and need you to get their "attention."  But thanks for reading anyway.  Really.

Whatever you say about them, at least the O.K. are not just making more excuses for Obama for signing this treason.

Let me guess:  He signed it so he could say the Republicans made him do it so he could have an issue to use against them in the election year?  Something  like that.

Happy New Year to you as well!

sometimes it's necessary, especially when you are deliberately obfuscating your connection to the O.K. It has nothing to do with Kossack's not being able to think for themselves.

Like I said, it's a shame you are going down this road. Hope you reconsider, seriously.

        •  I guess if I were in the military (0+ / 0-)

and I was asked if I would refuse orders to take US citizens into military custody without their right to charges or trial, indefinitely, because it violated my oath to uphold and defend the Constitution and American rights which I hold dear, then I hope I would have the enormous courage to answer yes, I would disobey, because I am an oath keeper.  Guilty.

          •  PS You should be thanking the Oath Keepers (0+ / 0-)

and Mr. Rhodes if for no other reason than, because of them, thousands on thousands of soldiers and law enforcement officers have taken the time to read their oath and the Constitution in the first place.

That can only be a good thing.

    •  Good work! eom (0+ / 0-)
