  •  Don't forget (23+ / 0-)

the destruction of environmental regulations including phosphate emissions and shoreland protection, the sale of state owned power plants to corporate cronies, the destruction of wind power through onerous siting regulations (causing at least 2 major wind farm projects to be abandoned), the abandonment of using local biomass fuel for the Charter Street plant in Madison in favor of continuing the use of coal, and the elimination of the office in Wisconsin promoting in-state and sustainable energy production, and proposing allowing Canadian hydropower to be applied towards the mandated state mix of renewables.

Not to mention the massive rollback of regulations in order to mine the Penokees in Northern Wisconsin, and the destruction of sustainable rail transportation through the cancellation of the Milwaukee-Madison leg of the Midwest High Speed Rail network that was fully funded by the Feds, and the cancellation of the KRM (Kenosha-Racine-Milwaukee) commuter rail system.

And...the conversion of civil service positions to higher paid appointed positions, and the appointment of a supremely incompetent hack developer and former legislator with no science background (Cathy Stepp) as DNR secretary.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is grossly understating and omitting the depth and breadth of Walkers destructive counterrevolutionary reactionary intitiatives, and is not worthy of the status of a fish wrapper. A five minute Google search can bring up all of the things I mentioned above.
