    so it's all about the money.  They get more from ad revenue than from subscribers so they work to ensure more ads.  They're just like the television media - generally sellouts to the highest bidders.

    There already is class warfare in America. Unfortunately, the rich are winning.

      . . . the Skagit Valley Herald, (circulation 17,000) has been owned by a local conservative family for many years.  The SVH deals fairly with local issues but publishes national conservative punditry which I generally ignore but occasionally write LTE's in protest.  Our state, national and international news arrives over the net.  SVH has some talented writers and photographers and regularly publishes beautiful color photos of local events and landscapes with their new state of the art press.  

      In recent years, the number of SVH content pages has been shrinking, while the advertising inserts have grown to dwarf the content.  Often it feels like the SVH is merely a Trojan horse designed to deliver junk advertising into my rural box.  They now have a clunky, hard to read online edition and I'm considering terminating delivery of the hard copy just to save trees.
