  •  Newt is staying in (1+ / 0-)

Fred Thompson didn't drop out with 13% and I would expect Gingrich to get more than that. Not much more mind. Perry might well call it quits.

    •  I definitely think Gingrich is in through Florida (5+ / 0-)

His ego has been badly bruised the past few weeks, and he is too stubborn and prideful to drop out after Iowa. Gov. Perry, on the other hand, might conclude he's done himself enough damage if he finishes fifth or worse in Iowa and decide not to stick around for another humiliation in South Carolina.

his recent rise that anything can happen, and you shouldn't drop out until it's a foregone conclusion.

    •  I don't think Newt exceeds 13%, & in fact... (2+ / 0-)

...I expect that's his ceiling, and an unlikely one for him to actually reach.

I won't be surprised if Newt ends up in single-digits, ahead of only Bachmann and the near-zero candidates like Huntsman, Johnson, and Roemer.

If Santorum truly is surging and it's not over yet, then Newt will continue the most bleeding from that because he's running the worst and least campaign.
