  •  Obama promised... (12+ / 0-)

To responsibly end the Iraq War, prevent a second Depression, pass Healthcare reform where every President before him had failed, repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell, and kill Osama Bin Laden.

    Check, Check, check, check, CHECK.

    •  Obama promised to close Guantanamo Bay, (0+ / 0-)

never to use signing statements, end the Bush tax cuts, protect foreclosed homeowners, prosecute Wall Street felons, sign the Employee Free Choice Act, allow imported prescription drugs, support a public option, reject Bush's military commissions, close the revolving door for lobbyists in his administration, expand ENDA to include sexual orientation and gender identity,  restore the Superfund, create a cap-and-trade program to fight global warming, negotiate health care on C-SPAN, and introduce comprehensive immigration reform in his first year.

nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.

A new year, a time for many changes. Some we will like, some we won't.

because if he is elected, he will do a decidedly worse job on your list than President Obama ever would or could.

Ds see human suffering and wonder what they can do to relieve it. Rs see human suffering and wonder how they can profit from it.

never to use signing statements: No, he didn't; he promised to not throw them around like Bush did.

end the Bush tax cuts: Do you want them ended for everyone during a Big Recession?  He promised to end them on the high end earners, of which he is a part of, but that takes Congress to make a bill.

protect foreclosed homeowners: He's done some, but most of that will still take Congress.

prosecute Wall Street felons: He's done a little, but I agree, not far enough.

sign the Employee Free Choice Act: Is he going to sign a piece of paper he wrote "Employee Free Choice Act" on?  Congress again.

allow imported prescription drugs:  Congress again.

support a public option:  Congress again.

reject Bush's military commissions: I thought this was an interesting entry on Wikipedia about the Military Commissions act of 2009:  "According to Edwards some Obama appointees had tried to get new rules which would have caused the Prosecution to abandon charging Guantanamo captives like Omar Khadr with murder. Edwards wrote that the change would have triggered dropping charges against a third of the Guantanamo captives the Prosecution planned to charge with murder."

close the revolving door for lobbyists in his administration:  Yeah, he doesn't accept lobbyist money.

expand ENDA to include sexual orientation and gender identity:  Congress.

        restore the Superfund:  Congress.

create a cap-and-trade program to fight global warming:  Congress

negotiate health care on C-SPAN: OK, so he failed to get Congress to show up on CSPAN.

introduce comprehensive immigration reform in his first year: Congress

        WORST. CONGRESS. EVER.

        Occupy the voting Booth!
