      if you ever have the opportunity, visit there. They are a bit rich there, other than that it is really nice. The building you see is the Laacher Pfalz, this is one of the capital residences of carolingian times, that is now 1200 years ago and more. They were glad about the warm volcanic springs in the region - warm water heating so to say. that specific building is one of the birthplaces of modern Europe, one could say. this - those few buildings there. is how far civilization extended back in that time. Everything has come from there. The place ranks with St Benedict´s abbey, in significance. (But it is getting difficult to see it through the asphalt and the all covering blanket of modernity).
