    And if the top o' the ticket is Say-Anything Mitt, they'll need an even more Red-Meat Evangelical in the No. 2 slot.

      might moderately enthuse a base that's probably going to rotely vote Republican anyway. But it will have a Palinesque effective on the larger electorate and on the mainstream media, causing even some conservative newspapers to reluctantly endorse Obama again. The "red meat" evangelicals have become too openly insane to not scare large swaths of the  voting public - including most independents. My guess is that the money folks in the GOP will force the choice of someone not now in the field who has not made incendiary and ignorant remarks but has a solid voting record on issues important to the evangelical base  — someone like Senator Rob Portman of Ohio.

      Take the "Can't(or)" out of Congress. Support E. Wayne Powell in Va-07.
