    Anyone who could compare Rich Cordray to John Bolton is really uninformed. Cordray is probably BETTER than Elizabeth Warren would have been at the job. He has a proven track record of beating the big financial institutions in the political arena, and she doesn't.

    Take the "Can't(or)" out of Congress. Support E. Wayne Powell in Va-07. http://www.ewaynepowell.com/

      But in regard to bypassing normal democratic processes to do an end-run around the Congress, as opposed responding to some actual emergency situation, I'm afraid that Obama = Bush. The risk of cheering on one autocrat is that it paves the way for more autocracy. I didn't like it when Bush did it; I don't like it when Obama tries it.

      •  Obama != Bush here. (0+ / 0-)

        Bush didn't recess-appoint Bolton in response to an obstructionist, closed-ranks stonewalling of the appointment process on the part of his opposing party.

        The Republicans have created an extremely exceptional situation, in which recess appointments are entirely appropriate.
